Sherril Mohan

I’m Sherrill Mohan

I’m a first-generation Indian American therapist. LMFT-A.

As a first-generation Indian American, I deeply understand the unique cultural dynamics, values, and challenges faced by the South Asian population, as well as the complexities of navigating life between two cultures.

With over 15 years of experience in the field of sleep medicine, specializing in pediatrics, I am now channeling my skills and expertise into the world of therapy. I’ve seen firsthand how physical health can impact emotional and relational well-being, and it’s this insight that I now bring into the therapy room.

My background in healthcare has given me a profound appreciation for the mind-body connection and the importance of family dynamics in overall well-being.

I completed graduate school in 2024 with a Master of Science in Psychology with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I am building on my medical experience to develop a therapeutic approach that is empathetic, evidence-based, and culturally informed.

I strive to create a safe space where clients from all backgrounds, especially those from South Asian communities, can explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

As someone who shares your cultural background and understands the intricacies of balancing traditional values with modern life, I can provide a therapeutic environment that is both empathetic and tailored to your unique experience. I’m here to listen, support, and guide you as you navigate your personal and relational challenges.

If you’re navigating any of the following challenges:

    • Balancing Cultural Expectations: As a first-generation Indian American, I understand the pressures of balancing cultural heritage with the expectations of Western society. I can help you explore your identity, manage family expectations, and find your voice.
    • Navigating Family Dynamics: Family is at the heart of our culture, but it can also bring about complex dynamics. Whether it’s addressing intergenerational conflicts, setting boundaries, or working through attachment issues, I provide a compassionate space to explore these challenges.
    • Managing Health, Sleep, and Well-Being: My extensive experience in sleep medicine has taught me the critical impact of physical health on mental and emotional well-being. I integrate this knowledge into my therapeutic practice to support clients in managing stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and overall life balance.
    • Relationship Issues: From managing cultural pressures around marriage and parenting to improving communication and building stronger relationships, I work with individuals and couples to foster healthier connections.

I am here to support you on your journey.
