Rachael Marie

I’m Rachael Marie

I’m a therapist specializing in children and teenagers. LPC-A.

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, along with a minor in Public and Interpersonal Communications.

Through therapy, we can explore underlying factors contributing to behavior, develop coping strategies and social skills, improve emotional regulation, and promote academic success. My goal is to empower students to overcome challenges and thrive in their school environment by providing individualized support and interventions. a

I learned patience, understanding, and adaptability when it came to teaching the children life skills and modifying behaviors.

Later, I used my experience in the classroom working as a middle school technology teacher where I worked with a predominantly Latinx population.

Working with Latinx families, I applied my knowledge of working with the whole family to help students succeed. Similarly, I use this knowledge in the therapy room. By using the support of the family, an individual can begin their healing journey.

A compassionate and connection-centered approach

I aim to establish a trusting relationship where clients can experience the healing power of connection and overcome barriers to connection that contribute to mental, emotional, relational, and behavioral difficulties. I provide compassionate therapy, addressing a range of issues including grief, emotion regulation, self-esteem, and interpersonal connections. Collaborating closely with parents, I strive to understand family dynamics and offer family therapy sessions when beneficial.

Grounded in the belief that healing occurs within the context of relationships, my therapeutic approach emphasizes the importance of connection. I value cultural sensitivity, specializing in supporting Spanish-speakers seeking culturally competent therapy, navigating grief and loss, addressing ongoing emotional symptoms related to trauma, and working through relational conflicts.

My expertise extends to:

  •  working with children from 4 to 12 years old, addressing disruptive behavior, attention and concentration issues, or social-emotional struggles
  • guiding teenagers through identity development, supporting young adults in life skills development
  • providing individualized support to individuals with autism and physical disabilities
  • assisting families with children’s immigration adaptability and resilience
  • addressing body image concerns.

If my approach and areas of expertise resonate with you, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session. Let’s embark on this journey together.
